This weekend, as usual, when we stayed at Mom & Dad Chen's in Shih-Lin, Taipei, she presented and gave this old piece of newspaper cutting to Ruby. Sort of memory, sort of pride; who knows the complex between mother- and daughter- in-law?

Father Chen, a retired hish school chemistry teacher.
Ms Fung-Ying Chang (張鳳英), my chemistry mentor in Jianguo (then Chien-Kuo) Senior High School.
and
Yi-Wen Fu (胡以文), MSc (at least) or PhD?, a classmate and rival during that contest in December, 1989.
